An Autograph session I had an amazing time at Dragon*Con. The actors were all so nice and friendly, and they really enjoyed the convention even though they were a little freaked out when they walked in and saw Starship Troopers from Star Wars in the lobby. lol. September 4, 2003 Today I start my senior year of high school. I hope this year isn't as bad as I think it's going to be, lol. I just really hate my roster. September 26 - 29, 2003 The 26th was my birthday. I went down to Raleigh, NC. I was going to attend a preseason hockey game, the Carolina Hurricanes vs. the Atlanta Thrashers. Also, my family was going to go to the Fourth Annual Caniac Carnival. The trip took almost the amount of time that we had expected for it to take, 7 hours. We arrived at the RBC Center on Friday night, ten minutes before the game was going to start. I knew that we were close to the bench area, but we were actually directly behind the Hurricanes bench! I was able to see all of my favorite players up close and personal, especially Bruno St. Jacques. The Hurricanes won the game 5 to 1. On Saturday, I visited a university that I am interested in named Elon, which is about an hour drive from Raleigh. The campus was beautiful, the food was excellent, the dorms were nice, they have the major that I want, photography, and the location is wonderful, it is so close to Raleigh, that I could go to a couple of Hurricanes' games and practices throughout the school year. That night for dinner, we went to the Cheesecake Factory, and we had to wait for two and a half hours before we were seated. When it was time to order dessert, my mom told our waiter, Chad, that it was my birthday. He then brought out a piece of cake with a candle in it, and he along with two other waiters sang "Happy Birthday" and I was completely embarrassed. Sunday was the Caniac Carnival. We arrived at the RBC Center for the carnival at 8:30 am. Of course, since my sister and I are obsessed with collecting hockey cards, the trading card show was the first stop that we made. We wound up buying foru cards, one of which we had autographed later in the day. We then rejoined my mom and watched the Hurricanes practice. Then we stood in a line for two hours to wait to receive autographs. At the end of the Carnival, we had four pucks autographed, three cards autographed, and a flag with a few signatures on it. October 7, 2003 School isn't as bad as I thought. My roster is as follows: 1 - English 2 - Computers 3 - Lunch 4 - Sociology/Psychology 5 - Theology 6 - Physics 7 - AP Calculus November 6, 2003 I traveled to Pittsburgh for the Penguins' Carnival. I also attended a game. The Carnival was amazing, I had the chance to meet Aleksey Morozov, and all of the other Penguins, including Marc-Andre Fleury! He was really nice, and has an amazing smaile. December 19, 2003 I traveled back to North Carolina, for Skate with the Canes. I got autographs from most of the players, and even had the opportunity have my picture taken with them. I met Bruno again, and he was so sweet and nice to me, which is a testament to his true character. February 22, 2004 I went to the Flyers' Wives Fight For lives Carnival, which was just as fun as it is every year. This year, however I had the chance to meet Branko Radivojevic! He was really nice and soft-spoken. The Phantoms, even though they were kind of bored, were nice and willing to sign anything, and pose for pictures. June 2, 2004 I finally graduated from high school. Don't get me wrong, I loved O'Hara but I am so over high school, and ready for college. Bring on RIT in the fall. June 23 - 28, 2004 I traveled to North Carolina to attend the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. On Thursday, the 24, some of the prospects participated in a Youth Hockey Clinic, and they even raffled off some autographed items. Later that night, they traveled to the Durham Bulls Arena where they were able to take part in batting practice. All of the boys did a very good job, especially the two Russians who had never played baseball before, lol. During the game, Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Andrew Ladd, Cam Barker, Alexandre Picard, and Al Montoya signed autographs. They were all very nice, and even posed for a few pictures. Saturday was the actual draft. It was so much fun, and all of the drafties were very approachable. Sunday was day two, and had a more relaxed atmosphere, at least for the fans anyway. It was an amazing trip, and all of the guys were so nice and extremely talented. Check out my draft photos, by clicking here.
